As the formality requires it, let me introduce myself and why I'm blogging!
My name is Danail Alekov and I’m a citizen of the world by soul and a citizen of Bulgaria by passport. I was born and grew up in Sofia, the capital city, and still spend most of my time here. During the rest I do only one thing – travelling around the globe.
Just a few words about my professional carrier, since it‘s not related to this blog – I am an MBA graduate from Sofia University. I took some internships in the government institutions while studying. Now I am working as a consultant in the area of public procurements and tenders submissions.
Then I started to travel more intense thanks to European Union funded programs for young journalists. I have participated in European Youth Media Days, Theaddress of Human Rights: Jorurnalism and many other projects by ‘Youth in Action’ Programme. During all these visits around Europe I met many young European journalists, expand my horizons, heard different stories and that’s how I started to write travel articles.
After graduation, I started with my trips around Middle East, Southeast Asia and Australia, Latin America and Caribbean. In between of the travels, I am based in Sofia (Bulgaria) and Salvador da Bahia (Brazil), where I am running an export business. After a short break from journalism, I continued with travel stories and articles about the diversified world with stories from different places around the globe. I started to run my travel blog, make a presentations in Travelers Club Bulgaria and write articles for The Economist’s magazine Bulgarian issue (Списание „Икономист“ / www.iconomist.bg), 'Magazine 8' and others. I also made some media appearances in BiT Television and FM+ Radio. Here I will share these stories with you!
I hope you will enjoy reading this blog!
